God is in This Story

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” Psalm 28:7

I have been in need of a little strength and joy lately. We had a family situation this summer that was pretty intense. In the beginning of the struggle the song came on the radio, “God is in this story” and it was God speaking to me, that He is indeed in this story. I was encouraged and reminded that He knows the end from the beginning, and He will work everything out for His glory. I also thought about where my joy comes from. It comes from worshipping God for who He is and all He has done for us. Just reminding myself of the truths of God and being in a thankful attitude lifts me out of my fears and doubts. God has always shown Himself faithful to me!

As time has passed with this situation, God has truly taken something difficult and turned it into a blessing for our whole family. It was a rough start, but God is accomplishing His purpose in the lives of those involved. It is a continuing story. And God is not finished with us. I wish I could say that I had total victory everyday over anxiety and stress, but I didn’t. Life is a series of ups and downs. I am training my heart to rejoice over everything that comes my way. To always trust, in the hardest things, that God is in this story!
