Holy Week Devotional

Palm Sunday, March 24

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭32‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

I believe we all understand the concept of being “all in.” It means we hold nothing back. Whatever the cost, everything is on the table. That means we value the prize above everything.

The reality for us in experiencing God is that for the sake of the work He has been doing since the Garden of Eden, He did not hold back anything. And that includes the life of His own Son. Paul reminded the Romans and us that God “gave Him up for us all…” Just as God created the world and all its wonders to be shared with us as human beings in all its glories and for His glory, now He laid His all on the table in order to redeem us and graciously share all those things with us again. Amazing.

And here is the starting point for us. God shows us His work and is about to invite us to join Him in it. But to do so we are headed toward a point of also being “all in.” How open are we to that reality?

Lord, open my eyes to Your work that is taking place all around me every day. That I may experience Your glory! Amen.
